DAMN YOU! started life as a fanzine written by MATT NEWNHAM and TOM COOGAN. First it gave birth to the legendary GRINGO RECORDS and then it kept growing. It swallowed up HEEHAW fanzine in it's wake and CHRIS SUMMERLIN joined Matt and Tom in writing for DY! The fanzine is still alive and well and being stretched and blown up to fill the gap left by the current state of the UKs music weeklies. More news on that front soon.
Back in the hazy summer of 1998 came DY!s first venture into putting on a gig. An alldayer. A massive money loser. We tried for Mudhoney but what we did get was a bunch of bands that would in time go on to greatness playing in a Colchester church. The bug had bitten.
Fast forward to 3 years on and the gig side of things has overtaken the fanzine. Old friend IAN SCANLON joining and dragging the shambolic gig organising skills of the other 3 into fine shape and giving DY! a London base as the other 3 move to Nottingham.
So here's what we do. We book gigs for YOUR band. Simple as that. We can do a one off direct with you or through another booking agent. We're happy to do either. Or we can book an entire tour for you through the Uk and Ireland.
We all play in bands and trust us, we've played every shithole in the country and not got paid so YOU don't have to. You know when the night's over and the promoter brings up the tick sheet from the door and gives you £4.80? Well, FUCK THAT. Every person we get in contact with to book a gig through is a friend and we trust them. Most of them run amazing collective's with a good reputation for getting good bands. Go to any Pull The Strings night in Bristol or a Cops & Robbers show in Leeds. We can't always get a guarantee of money for you, but we do where we can. In the circumstances we can't we only go ahead and book gigs if we know they're going to be good and the people involved are doing a good job.
So email us if you want us to help you out. We're not a charity so we'll only do it if we like your band. But we like a lot of bands. Check our past shows list to see the kind of thing we put on regularly.

Cheers.
